Tonight as I’m working on a project, I’m thinking of those who I would be reaching out to ask for help. Friends & family members who I have lost, and in their honor tonight, I post their names and wish they were still with us.
Evan Goldschlag, Zac Bertschy, Marlon Stodghill, Kristin Choe, Phyllis Lawhorn, Joe & Bea Perez, Larry Perez, Ben Perez, Uncle Tommy, Neice Kayla, Aunt Ollie, Aunt Cyndi, Ross Johnson.
I also think of the 3 people whos lives I have saved. I’m glad to have made an actual difference.
I remember my first “new” product idea. It was during HS and the concept was how to make servicing anything easier. I had a free hour conversation with an attorney who told me it would be too difficult and there was already a similar product out there. Here we are more than 20 years later and the market still exists but no one has come in to dominate the field. There have been a few projects to make it come to fruition, but nothing yet.
So today, I’m starting a new project, so I can start another project, so I can start a 3rd project. Each more difficult than the last, but hopefully able to fund the next bigger project.
Today I’m sorting and boxing movies I can access online. Durring my inventory, I came across this gem. One of my favorite series! If you get the chance to see any of them in the theater, do it, it will change your life.
Part of the fun is creating an online database of movies, please take a look. Let me know what is your favorite movie in my collection or movie you own.
Whether you’re making homemade cookies or fruit bars a good recipe always helps. One of my personal favorites is the cookies from DoubleTree hotel. One side effect of the Coronavirus is that tourism is down. In an attempt to keep their brand name positive, DoubleTree released the recipe for their famous cookies. Now before I share it, know that you can always stop by a DoubleTree anywhere in the world, go to the front desk and ask for a free cookie or 3. 🙂

Hello, world. Its a rough day, so why not post something unique. Here’s a great quote from Obama and while I didn’t vote for him, I have come to appreciate him more.
“This idea of purity and you’re never compromised and you’re always politically woke and all that stuff, you should get over that quickly,” the former president told a group of young activists at an Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago in late October. “The world is messy. There are ambiguities. People who do really good stuff have flaws.”
I have flaws, you have flaws and while we don’t advertise them, they are still there. I can think of 100 different things to be ashamed of, that would outright revolt some people from ever wanting to talk to me again. I have a set of friends who are married, who long ago once told me that I stretch the boundaries too far and that they don’t like hanging out with me sometimes. Keep in mind, I don’t do drugs or anything outright illicit, but I have been known to speed when driving, and use a bit of clout to get a discount or upgrade I might not qualify for.
So where am I going with this? Regardless of your faith, the core of it is that we are all imperfect and we can do better. For some of us, we are saved through grace, some though works, some transcend when they further understand what that one thing is that connects it all. For me today, that one thing is love. Love of all the world has to offer, and all that it has and will take away. I love you and miss you. I thank you for being in my life and hope to grow as a human through a greater understanding of love.
Lastly, if you are looking up to the moon tonight, there is a new Comet to see: NEOWISE. You don’t need a telescope, just the Mark I eyeball. Take a look tonight, NEOWISE won’t make it back to the inner solar system for 6,800 years. If you miss it tonight, look up to the moon, its the same majestic & wonderful moon we all see.
Most of the time, the full moon isn’t perfectly full. We always see the same side of the moon, but part of it is in shadow. Only when the moon, Earth and the sun are perfectly aligned is the moon 100% full, and that alignment produces a lunar eclipse.
This month’s full moon occurs on Sunday, July 5 at 3:33 a.m. PDT, but the moon will appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer. July’s full moon is known as the Buck Moon, though it has many other nicknames by different cultures.
Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood (also called the Neighborhood), was a half-hour educational children’s program on PBS starring Fred Rogers, and started airing in the US 1968 and ran for 895 episodes. A huge feat to be sure!
His show was designed for children and was very prescient of the children who would be babysat by the TV in the coming decades as the traditional gender roles broke down and women started taking jobs outside the home.
Now what made the shows so wonderful were the kind messages, the lessons taught and the barriers broken to encourage children to be the best they can be while also understanding that they are already amazing just by being themselves.
Mr. Rodgers came to be loved by millions of children over many decades (myself included), and part of the reason was that Fred Rodgers wasn’t just acting who he was on the show was who he really was. Honest, kind, fun, and with a real love for life. He once told a story of a conversation with his mother when he was dealing with some traumatic incident.
His mother said, when you see scary things in the world, look for the helpers.
The intent of course to be, the world is not all bad, just some people. Just some things, not all things.
Tonight here in LA half of the county is on lockdown after 4 nights of protests and looting in response to the senseless killing of George Floyd. A Black man from Minneapolis, who was killed when three police officers pinned him to the ground and one officer keeled on his neck restricting his airflow and caused his pre-existing conditions to heighten the damage they were doing. He died at the hand(knee’s) of those who should protect us event when we do not protect our own best interests.
So tonight the rest of the world is watching dozens of cites across the US burn because we can not get past the fact that we are all equal. That treating each with respect is always needed, even when we are in a position of power, we still should show respect to those we protect.
So tonight I am thinking of you. I love and respect you. I hope that your life is far better once all the craziness of COVID, the economy, and people behaving badly is straightened out, hopefully for the better. Until then, enjoy walks in the park with coffee and remember to stop and smell the flowers and leaves. And remember when bad things are happening around you to look for the helpers. If you don’t see any, maybe it is you that should be helping. 🙂
“Super Flower Moon” will rise during dusk tonight—Thursday, May 7. Unless you caught it earlier this morning on the other side of the planet or moonset, this is your first and last opportunity to see a supermoon where it looks biggest and best—on the horizon—until summer 2021.
The full moon will appear about six percent larger than a typical full moon. The final of four so-called “supermoons” in 2020, today’s full moon phase occurs at precisely 10:45 Universal Time. However, the best time to look at the supermoon is tonight for those in western Europe and North America—which are the two best-placed regions of the world for this particular full moon.
Whether journaling online, in a paper book or just posting photos of our lives eating sushi, keeping a record of our life is important. It helps us to look back on the past and remember the good, the bad and lessons for the future.
Looking back on the past is often hard to do when faced with your own mistakes. Yes, it’s true that hindsight is 20-20, but it’s complicated when knowing your own view of things that transpired will often lack the full truth and understanding of all who were involved.
From our time at school, to our first jobs and our first loves to our personal and work relationships. The stories in our heads are just a small slice of what really happened. In someone else’s story we are the villain. In another review, we are the love intrest.
I wish it was possible to gather all of those “other stories” and really know our selves better. Could you imagine seeing yourself though someone else’s eyes? Though their lenses of rose or envy or hate. It would be hard, but it would be amazingly informative. Hopefully it would improve you.
To understand why someone stopped talking to you or what you did that made them angry. What you did to make them happy or fall in love. Or what they feel now and where they are in their life’s journey.
I lost a loved one recently and I wish I could look back at her life though “journals” to understand them better. With her loss, it’s the beginning of a new era. My father is now “The old man”, the new Grandpa. I wish him luck in taking on that standard bearer.
So here’s my journal entry for the week. I’m working on a new project! AConversationWith.Me & AConversationWith.Us It should be something amazing, it’s still brand new but wish me luck!
