Covid 19: The Hunt for TP, Hand Sanitizer, and Humanity

Today marks week 5 of Californians Safer at Home / Simi-quarantine. I have managed to scour the lands for toilet paper & most necessities, but most of the grocery stores are still running low on most items. When I have ventured outside, people are on edge. Full of tension and anxiety, and it comes out in how they are driving (like jerks) and in how they treat people the encounter (like jerks). I suppose I deserve it.

Anyways, thanks for visiting mysite! I’m glad to be able to share my life with you, even if it is only 1 way.

I hope you are all doing well!

Love, prayers and peace be with you!

Fortress of Solitude

Wikipedia discribes the Fortress of Solitude as:

A place of solace and occasional headquarters for Superman, the fortress is typically depicted as being in frozen tundra, away from civilization.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fortress_of_Solitude

Its been over a month now of Shelter in Place/Safer at Home, here in California. Over the last few weeks, quite a bit has happened!
Millions have lost their jobs, thousands of shows and events have been canceled including SXSW. Thousands have died including some close family members, and life still moves on. Like a never-ceasing metronome, time keeps ticking on.

That got me to thinking, is the best part of my life behind me?

I have been working since I was 13, but I didn’t get a “real job” until I was about 23.
During that time, I have traveled extensively, worked with amazing people, and created some amazing projects & events. My life now is far more subdued, and I feel like I’m missing something. I don’t know if its the beginning of midlife crisis or just a longing to do something bigger.

I look back fondly upon the things I have accomplished and wonder will I reach those amazing heights again?

At times I look up the accomplishments of others, where they are, what they are doing, where they are heading. It is amazing to see the growth of my friends and loved ones. It gives me hope!

Anyways, I hope you are all doing well. I hope you have a Fortress of Solitude that you can retreat to and find peace and safety.

Good luck, God bless & peace be with you.

Astronomy News

Tonight’s supermoon — named after a pink wildflowerPhlox subulata — will be the closest full moon of 2020. The moon reaches perigee, or the closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, at 2:08 p.m. EDT (1808 GMT). At that time, the moon will be 221,905 miles (357,122 kilometers) away from Earth, compared to its average distance of 240,000 miles (384,400 km). The moon will become officially full about 8.5 hours after reaching perigee, at 10:35 p.m. EDT (0235 GMT on April 8).

Supermoons, or full moons that coincide with the moon’s perigee, appear about 7% larger and 15% brighter than the average full moon. However, the difference may not be noticeable to the casual observer. To get a closer view of tonight’s Super Pink Moon — and to learn about the science and history of this special moon-gazing event, two online observatories are offering free webcasts today.

Week 3 of Corona

It’s been 3 weeks since things really started to get crazy here in the US in regards to Covid-19. Stores are still regularly being bought out of staple items; toilet paper, water, canned goods, potatoes and most meats. I have a craving for sushi that won’t go away!

With all the craziness I can’t help but wonder what life is like elsewhere. Italy & Spain seem to have the largest outbreaks outside of China. Then places like Japan & South Korea have shocked everyone and compleatly flattened the curve after inital scares. For Japan, I can’t help but wonder: Have the hikikomori saved Japan? They’ve been practicing social distancing for decades. 🙂

You hear little from Russia, Mexico, and South America. I wonder how those counties are holding up! Hawaii my dream vacation is largely in lock down, anyone visiting is subject to a 2 week quarantine. Wouldn’t that be nice? Sorry boss, I can’t come back, I’m trapped on a tropical island for 2 weeks.

Anyways, I hope that you all are staying safe and healthy. Enjoy the sun & the moon!

Peace be with you!

A Walk in a Garden

With all that is going on in the world, I wonder what a walk in the Garden with Jesus would be like. What would he say?

Would he sit down and look up it to the green of the trees? Would he look at the fish in the pond?

Would he talk about the virus or life? Would he miss me? Would he know me?

Where are you in your walk? Do you visit the garden?

Thank you for dropping by to visit my garden, you are always welcome and loved.

Peace be with you.

“You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. Apologize for mistakes. Apologize for unintentionally hurting someone profusely.  But don’t apologize for being who you are.”

Summer

The first day of summer is June 21st, another summer and another year.

While I look forward to the sun, the beach, and the cool summer night drives, I’m not looking forward to getting older.
I need to press play on life, on a new job, on love. The hard part is finding a way.

Anyways back to cleaning. Hope you have a great day!

Peace be with you!

Darkest Hour

“You are strong because you are imperfect. You are wise because you have doubts” – Clemmie

Well then, I am very strong and very wise.

I feel 3 times stronger and 3 times wiser than most others because I know I have your support.

Peace be with you.
